Virginia “Ginny” O’Rourke was called home to the Lord, leaving behind a family who was blessed beyond measure to be loved by her. There are no words to capture the sorrow we feel, yet the love she poured into each of us will last until we are reunited again in Heaven. Ginny was the beloved wife of the late Jerome “Big Jerry,” “the Big Guy” O’Rourke, the great love of her life. Even after his passing, he remained ever present in her heart. She spoke of him often, held tightly to their memories, and continued to love him with the same quiet strength that defined their marriage. We find comfort in believing that they are finally reunited in Heaven, together once more after a lifetime of devotion. She was a devoted mother to Jerry O’Rourke and his wife, Adlyn O’Rourke, and Kevin O’Rourke and his wife, Sophie O’Rourke; and a proud and adoring grandmother to Jerilyn, Taylor, Jillian, Sophia, and Isabella. The privilege of being her family was one of life’s greatest blessings, and the love she gave us is something we will carry for the rest of our lives. Her strength, tenderness, and unwavering devotion will remain a steady presence that guides us forward. Her faith in the Lord was not just something she believed. It was something she lived quietly and faithfully every single day. Nothing brought her more joy than lifting up the people she loved in prayer. The 12 p.m. Mass she so faithfully dedicated to her granddaughters was especially sacred to her, a beautiful reflection of the deep, protective, and intentional love she held for them. Ginny believed wholeheartedly in God, family, and country, and she lived those values in both the big moments and the ordinary ones. She was always “the source,” the one you called when you needed an answer, guidance, or simply reassurance. No matter the hour, she was there. To hear her warmly say, “Hey babe, what’s the good word?” was to feel instantly comforted, known, and loved. That voice will live on in our hearts forever. Her love for animals was one of the purest parts of who she was. She cared for them with a gentle, open heart and passed that compassion down to all of us. She leaves behind her dog, Marshmellow, who continues to bless Jerry’s family with the comfort of having a piece of her still with us, and her cat, Bella, who has been rehomed to a loving family. We smile through our tears imagining the joyful welcome she received as she was reunited with the many dogs, cats, ferrets, and beloved companions who surely ran to greet her at the Rainbow Bridge. While our hearts ache knowing how deeply she would want to still be here with us, our faith reminds us that she is now fully healed, at peace, and held in the presence of the Lord she loved so much. Heaven has gained a truly beautiful soul, and we are endlessly proud and grateful to have called her Mom and Grandma. She loved the songs Amazing Grace and The Goodness of God, and now she can sing them in His presence forever. She will be missed in ways words cannot express, loved beyond measure, and remembered in the countless lessons, traditions, and love she leaves behind. A love like hers does not fade, it lives on in all of us. To our Beautiful Angel: Thank you for everything. We love and miss you so much already, and you will forever be in our hearts until we embrace you again in the Lord’s presence
