On June 23, 2024, the kind and gentle spirit of Susan Ryan Palladino entered eternal life after battling lung cancer for more than two years. Susan was a lifelong Catholic, devoted to faith, family and prayer all of her life. She was born in New York City on March 8, 1959, and
remained a lifelong Bronx resident. After St. John’s Elementary school and Cardinal Spellman High School, she worked at GTE/Verizon Communications.
Being a committed Yankees fan, she shared many laughs with her family when telling them she was engaged to an avid Mets fan. On August 11, 2006, Susan married Lawrence (Larz) Palladino with whom she shared common ground in their love for NYC. Together, they served
on the HOA board where they lived in the Bronx. They enjoyed cooking and eating Italian cuisine, taking care of their dogs, travel along the east coast and following baseball. Susan loved going with Larz to Subway Series games and to Boston to watch the Yankees and Red Sox play
at Fenway. She had many fond experiences visiting family, too.
When visiting her cousins in Philadelphia, she would reminisce about one of her earliest memories—their little girl tea parties. Her visit to Arizona when her nieces were young was an epic time of playing in the pool and becoming acquainted with life in the southwest.
When her brother and his family visited New York, she loved taking long car rides through the city and treating them to lunch at the various Bronx diners where they laughed and reminisced about growing up in the Kingsbridge neighborhood near St. John’s Church. Her witty
humor and keen memory helped the keep their family stories and traditions alive. In 2006, Susan added new relationships to her life through Larz’s extended family of cousins.
Susan is preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Catherine (Nancy) Doyle Ryan and her father, Francis J. Ryan. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Palladino, her brother, Frank G. Ryan (and Linda), nieces, Monica Lin Ryan and Francesca Marie Ryan, and loving
cousins—Ellen, Geri, Kathy, Bill, Ann Marie, Eddie and Joey—and their spouses and families.
Throughout her life, Susan was a devoted Catholic whose faith guided her. The family appreciates your kind thoughts, memories shared, and your continued prayers.
