Stephen Groarke

Stephen Groarke was born in Gurteen, Cloonfad, Co. Roscommon Ireland on January 17, 1930. He emigrated to New York in 1950 where he met and married Bernadette, his beloved wife of 59 years. Together they raised four children, Margaret, Brendan, Michael and Ciaran. Stephen adored his five grandchildren, Matthew, Jackie, Sean, Devin and Chloe, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews on both sides of the Atlantic. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he was retired from his work as a carpenter for the NYC Housing Authority and was a devoted Catholic and member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Div. 7.
