Rosa Julia Polanco

On Thursday, February 4, 2021, Rosa J. Polanco, loving mother of 7 children, 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, passed away at the age of 93.

Rosa was born on December 11, 1927 in the Dominican Republic to Angel Maria Paniagua and Carmen Grecia Linares.  She migrated to the United States in 1960.  She worked in the garment district for 20 years.  She was married to Sulpicio Polanco for 31 years before his passing on February 18, 1994. Together they raised two children, Betty and Sulphy.  Sulphy F. Polanco passed away on February 27, 2019.

Rosa was a strong-willed, witty, kind, loyal, and generous person with a smile that would light up a room. She loved spending time with family and friends.

Rosa was preceded in death by her father, Angel Maria, and her mother, Carmen Grecia, her husband, Sulpicio, and her son, Sulphy.  She is survived by her six children, Dolores, Angel, Martha, Carmen, Maritza, Betty, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rosa was the matriarch of the family and will be missed dearly.  She will forever be in the hearts of those she touched.
