Patrick Joseph Scanlon

Patrick Joseph Scanlon, age 100, of Kingsbridge, Bronx NY, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and friend, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024 at home.  Patrick was born March 16, 1924 in Louisburgh, County Mayo, Ireland to Patrick and Mary Scanlon, one of seven siblings.  He immigrated to the Bronx in 1952, and was a proud resident of Kingsbridge and member of St. John's parish from 1965 until his passing.  

Patrick was married to Eileen Hurley from 1954 until her death in 2010.  Their eldest child, Sr. Mary Scanlon, RJM, predeceased them in 1998.  Patrick is survived by his other three children: Patrick; Jerome and his wife Elizabeth; and Noreen Mastrangelo and her husband Mario.  He is also survived by six grandchildren: Ashley Basules and husband Ryan; Erin Resch and husband Tobias; Caitlin and fiance Alex; Daniel and fiancee Kalia; Marshall; and Marina.  Patrick also had four great-grandchildren: Brendan, Nora, Morgan, and Enno.
