Olga Bruh

Olga Bruh was born in Marseille, France on September 12th, 1934 to Michel and Esther Levine. Olga was a loving mother to her two sons Saul and Mark and a wonderful grandmother to her two grandchildren, Robert and Jennifer. Olga came to the United States via Ellis Island in 1952. She resided in the lower East side until she married her husband Morton Bruh where they made the Bronx their home.
Olga had a zest for life! She was ahead of her time, she took up jogging, not what the typical housewife in the 1970's would do,  and made Pelham Parkway her personal track. She made it a passion and went on to complete 6 marathons! She was a member of the Shorehaven Beach Club where she joined the Women's Softball team and help lead them to a championship. While raising her family she worked various jobs, but the one that she was proud of was her job at The Hebrew Hospital Home, where she was a dietary aide. She loved the people she worked with and showed compassion to the patients that lived there, She worked there over 20 years until she retired at the age of 65. 
Olga loved being around people, enjoyed striking up conversations with total strangers, finding interest in their lives and stories and would make a connection and remember them. Whether it was at the beach, gym, grocery store the local firehouse, Olga knew someone and went out of her way to say Hello and catch up. Olga loved music, dancing and a good party and more often was the life of the party!
Olga was No Nonsense! She spoke her mind and spoke from her heart. Olga will be missed by Everyone. On November 30, 2020, Olga Bruh was given the gift of eternal Peace and is now in the company of her family and friends that left before her. A part of her will always be with us, May She Rest In Peace.
