It is with great sadness that the family of Juana Perez announces her passing on December 23, 2025. She resided in New York, New York, and will be laid to rest at Madonna Cemetery & Mausoleum in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
Juana, lovingly known as "Mama Juana," was born on August 31, 1916, in La Vega, Dominican Republic. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laureano and Sinencia Hernandez.
She was the last surviving sibling of Jesus, Feliz, Piro, Felipe, Arturo, Amelia, Chichio, Raul, Rojelio, Mercedes, Martina, and Bardomero.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Felix Perez, who passed away on June 10, 2005, as well as her son, Rene Perez (April 25, 2024).
Mama Juana was compassionate, generous, and selfless. She was always helping others, and if someone needed food, she would gladly give her own. She taught her family the values of honesty, respect, and kindness. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, cooking for those she loved, and living her deep Catholic faith. God was always at the center of her life.
She leaves behind her loving children: Ramona Perez (wife of the late Rene), Lucia Nunez (Fausto), Marino Perez (Nuris), Amparo Diaz (Fidas), Maximo Perez (Maria Elena), Francisco Perez (Isabel), and Hortencia Perez. Also surviving are 21
grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 6
great-great-grandchildren, who will continue to cherish her memory.
She will remain forever in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
