JOVITA TORRES SUPIL, 98, passed away on April 23, 2020, of natural causes. She was born on August 4, 1921, to Julian and Benita (Trasmil) Torres at Fort William McKinley (now Fort Bonifacio), Manila, Philippines. Jovita, her mother, and 3 siblings moved to Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental at the time her father, Julian, was stationed in the United States, prior to the WWII outbreak.
Jovita studied at and graduated from Silliman University with a BS in Education. She taught Elementary Education for many years until her retirement in 1971, whereupon she immigrated to the United States of America. It was during her teaching assignment that she met and married Apolinario Supil, Sr. (who passed away in 2004).
Jovita is survived by her CHILDREN: Jasmine Quinones (Sergio), Joy Siegel (Frank), Joseph (Susan), and Apolinario, Jr. (Julie Ann); GRANDCHILDREN: Kim Alvin (Irene) Jan Jasper, Nico Neil, Adam (Lisa), David (Brittney), Yadell Mondares (Gerald), Eric, Emily, JunKim and Jacqueline; GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Verence, Michael, and Mila; GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILD: Indica.
