John H Reynolds, life-long resident of Kingsbridge/Riverdale passed away at age 80 on December 3, 2025. A young savant, he went to Bronx Science and studied physics at CCNY before serving in the Army in Germany during the Vietnam era. Upon returning to the Bronx he took up computer programming and did so until he was among the last of the COBOL programmers. He excelled at playing chess and bridge, was active in Green and other politics having run for local political office on more than one occasion and worked to close down Indian Point. He was highly principled and his politics was motivated by a sense of duty rather than desire for office. He is survived by his brother Peter. A memorial and remembrance is planned for March 25th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Williams funeral home at 5628 Broadway at West 232nd Street in the Bronx.
