JOHN JAMES MC BRIEN, JR.

John James McBrien, Jr. passed away on September 4, 2020. John was born on June 2, 1949 in Washington Heights, grew up in the Inwood section of Manhattan, and settled in Spuyten Duyvil in the Bronx. John attended Manhattan Prep, Manhattan College and received a Master's Degree in Spec. Ed from Bank Street & Lehman Colleges. He retired from his teaching position at DeWitt Clinton High School.

John is survived by Barbara Faile, the love of his life; his sister Anne Cauvin; his nephews Henri Cauvin (Rachel) and Jean-Louis Cauvin; his grandnephews Gabriel & Julian; and many cousins in the U.S. and in Ireland. He so enjoyed his many trips to Ireland over the past several years.

John was predeceased by his father (John James, Sr); his mother (Mary Henry McBrien) and his sister (Mary McBrien Ortiz).

Visitation and celebration for his life will take place Wednesday, September 9, 2020, from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home, 5628 Broadway, Bronx, N.Y.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at 10:30 A.M. at Good Shepherd Church, 4967 Broadway, N.Y. 10034
