James (Jim) D'Agostino, our beloved Husband, Father, Stepdad, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, and friend to all, passed away on September 16th. Jim was born on June 4th, 1943, to Fortunato D'Agostino and Frances Pello. He was one of five siblings. Jim was born, raised, and spent most of his life residing in Yonkers, NY.
Jim served in the U.S. Navy, and he carried his love for the sea throughout his life. He never missed an opportunity to get on a boat and fish the day away. Along with fishing, Jim was a master chef in the kitchen. He loved to cook and to bake. Holidays with Jim were memorable. He took so much pleasure in cooking and fed his guests some of the most delicious meals they ever tasted.
A man of many talents, Jim was also a skilled carpenter. If you wanted it, he'd build it for you, and it would last forever. He also loved classic cars, and his eyes would light up if he spotted a "hot rod" in his travels. He loved boxing matches and a good comedy movie. Watching funny movies with Jim was very entertaining.
Jim was incredibly giving, and it was impossible to keep him away from a friend or family member in need. That was just who he was. He was a considerate, generous, and loving man with a wealth of knowledge and experience that he loved sharing and always put to good use.
Jim is survived by his wife Marie, a sister Helen, his children James, Tricia, Lisa, and Brian; his stepchildren Ken, Melissa, and Jill; fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A huge family that meant the world to him.
Jim has left us now, but he leaves us with so many beautiful memories of love, laughter, and the extraordinary life he shared with us all. We will miss him always.
