Gioia Paula Cipriani
October 3, 1927-May 10, 2021
Gioia P. Cipriani, a proud 93 year resident of the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx, N.Y. died peacefully on May 10, 2021 with family at her side.
Born in New York City to Andrew and Isabel (Ciotti) Paretti, Gioia was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Gioia was predeceased by Paul her loving husband of sixty years. She is survived by her loving children Paul, Gioia O’Connor (James) and AnneMarie Hughes (Robert). An adoring grandmother to James O’Connor (Tammy), Jacqueline Hughes, Paul O’Connor, Robert Hughes (Diana) and Gioia O’Connor. She was also the proud and loving great-grandmother to Robert, Stephanie, James and Kayla.
Gioia is also survived by her sister Louise Mundy, her cousin Isabel Ciotti and many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Andrew and his wife Mary, her sister Violet Paretti and her brother-in-law Earle Mundy.
Gioia was the Administrative Assistant to the Director at The Methodist Home in Riverdale New York, where she most loved spending time with the residents. Gioia loved cooking and spent countless hours creating handmade gifts for her family and friends.
Gioia will be greatly missed!
Visitation will be at Williams Funeral Home, 5628 Broadway, Bronx N.Y. on Sunday, May 16. 2pm-7pm.
A mass of Christian burial will be Monday, May 16 at Saint Johns Roman Catholic Church, Kingsbridge Avenue, Bronx, N.Y. Interment to follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla N.Y.
