Geraldine Dawson

Geraldine Dawson peacefully made her transition to be with the Lordon Tuesday July 15, 2025, at the Schervier Nursing Home in Riverdale, NY.

Geraldine was the daughter of the late Idell Elliott and Archie Godbolt born October 31, 1935, in South Carolina. She was educated in the public schools of South Carolina.

Most who knew her called her “Gerri.” Gerri left behind countless memories that will never be forgotten. She was always outside walking around or sitting on bench in Marble Hill or walking up on
Broadway and W 231 Street area. She was especially known for her unforgettable macaroni and cheese, perfectly fried chicken, and sweet homemade iced tea, comfort food made with love that brought people together.

Gerri was employed with New York insurance companies for many years as an underwriter until her retirement.

Gerri was a longtime member of Carolina Baptist Church until her illness made it difficult to attend. She was later admitted to Schervier Nursing Home.

Gerri was preceded in death by her mother, father, three sisters and two brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Valerie Dawson, granddaughter Tiffani Miller and a host of family and friends.
