It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eduardo Vera of The Bronx, New York, age 57, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Eddie was born on January 24, 1969, in Wilmington, Delaware.
Eddie, also known as Cort Wildstyle, was truly gifted. His passion and vision reflected his creative genius. He was an artist in his own right. He was loved dearly by his family and many of his peers for his ability to create beautiful art out of anything. From creating his own action figures as a child out of miscellaneous things, to his iconic role in graffiti and b-boy art. A jack of all trades, some would say. He could fix anything and if given the tools, could’ve built a beautiful home with his bare hands.
Eddie is survived by his loving mother, Ramona Santiago, and her husband, Miguel Torres; sister, Evelyn Vera, niece and nephews, Evanny Diaz, Ismael Diaz (great nephew, Max Diaz, great niece, Amy Diaz), and Adam Torres (great nephew, Ethan Torres); sister, Janette Torres-Gomez, and her husband, Alfred Gomez, nieces and nephews, Janelle Ayala, Donovan Samphier, Ryan Gomez, Alexis Orlowski, and Richard Domingo; former spouse and mother of their children, America Piña; daughter, Kelsey Ciara Vera, her husband, Anthony Rodriguez, and granddaughter, Athena Ciara Rodriguez; son, Benjamin Vera, his wife Carolyn Ramos, and grandson, Corie Lucas Vera; son, Harry Mingo; his fiancée, Cat (“my #1 cheerleader,” Eddie always said); and many loving cousins, extended family members and close friends.
No matter what silent battles Eddie may have been facing, he was always the life of the party, bringing smiles to everyone around him. Eddie, you will be missed greatly by all. God has chosen another angel to bring home. God bless you and may you now rest in peace.
A Celebration of Life viewing will occur from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Williams Funeral Home, 5628 Broadway, Bronx, NY 10463.
