Diana Amaro-Castro
November 23, 1976 – May 30, 2025
Diana Amaro-Castro, 48, of the Bronx, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 30,
2025. Born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, on November 23, 1976, Diana was a radiant presence whose
life revolved around love. Love for her family, her work, and her community. She was bold, purposeful,
and full of heart. As Coco Chanel once said, “A girl should be two things: who and what she wants.”
Diana was exactly that. She was unapologetically herself.
A dedicated professional with an extraordinary gift for connecting people, Diana built an impressive
20-year career at HBO and was most recently serving as Senior Partner Marketing Manager at Starz.
She brought her signature charisma, insight, and people skills to every project and partnership. Her
family often joked that they were her personal billboards, proudly wearing and promoting whatever
show she was working on. Diana did not just work in marketing. She lived it with joy, creativity, and
excellence.
More than anything, Diana was the heart of her family. She was the one everyone leaned on, laughed
with, and learned from. A true supermom, she was fiercely devoted to her children, Kaylee and
Sebastian, and to her beloved husband, Julio Cesar Castro. She never missed a moment that
mattered. Whether cheering from the sidelines at Sebastian’s little league games or sitting front row
at every one of Kaylee’s dance recitals and practices, Diana was always there. She encouraged,
supported, and celebrated her children with unmatched pride.
Her devotion extended beyond her home. Diana managed schedules, supported little league
registrations, sold team merchandise, and still made time to serve as President of her building’s HOA
for several years.
She was empathetic, dependable, joyful, and endlessly generous. Diana mentored with grace, led
with warmth and gave her whole heart to the people she loved. Her impact, both personal and
professional, will be felt for years to come.
Diana is survived by her husband, Julio, their children, Kaylee and Sebastian, and her siblings:
Ramón Samboy, Johanna Amaro, Enrique Jay, Mia Montañez, Eveliz Amaro, Manuel Amaro, and
Jinaida Amaro. She also leaves behind countless friends, colleagues, and extended family members
whose lives were forever touched by her kindness, loyalty, and brilliance. She will be missed beyond
measure, but her spirit, strength, and light will continue to live on in all of us.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, June 6th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at
Williams Funeral Home, 5628 Broadway, Bronx, NY 10463.
