Delores Goodhope Obituary

Delores Goodhope, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother entered the world on July 27, 1947 and departed on December 26, 2020. Lois was born to the late Alexander Coley, Jr. and Ann Elizabeth Fonville Coley. She resided most recently with her daughter, Karen Brandon at 1316 Crescent Drive, Tarrytown New York. Lois at an early age was devoted to raising her two daughters, Tracy Clausell who preceded her in death and Karen Clausell. They were the center of her world. She was an amazing mother, grandmother to Khalil and Jamilla and great grandmother to Khalia and Sahara. Lois loved family immensely, she took cooking to a new level. This is how she simplified her love to family and friends, by giving that talent by cooking along with her infectious laugh, family gatherings and fun filled life. She was a fun loving person who would go beyond the call of duty. She was a good listener and great person to talk to, and often gave good advice to vicarious situations. She was very candid and did not beat around the bush. Lois was a committed mother who worked long and hard hours to diligently, and effortlessly provide for her beloved children, Tracy and Karen as well as  to have a meaningful quality of life for  them.  She was an Office Manager for a Dental office in City Island for ten years, New Jersey for twelve years and  lastly, she retired from  Dr. Barry Jason’s office in Mount Vernon New York in 2001 after 20 years of employment.

Lois was very spiritual and made sure that her daughters had a foundation in religion. Lois was the beneficiary of God's Love and lived a life of genuine, compassion for others. Lois would often go above and beyond for everyone who entered her life. She was a trusting person which often got her into trouble with her heart. However, she didn't let that stop her from being the best person she could be for those who knew her well. During times of hardship and adversity, with God’s love and the support of her family, Lois held her head up high and never allowed the world to break her spirit.

Lois was many things to many people and will surely be missed, as well as  never forgotten by  all. Lois is survived by her Husband John GoodHope, daughter Karen Brandon, Grandchildren, Khalil Marshall and Jamilla Garba, Great Grandchildren, Khalia Garba and Sahara Marshall. She, also has a host of cousins, as well as her younger brother Ronald Coley and other relatives and friends.

It was the quality of the relationships she built with others that best describes the impact of her existence. Thanking all for the kind acts and concerns for the family during this time of bereavement.
