Catherine J. Crowley

Catherine J. Crowley passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born in New York City on June 23, 1935, to the late Cornelius and Nellie Crowley. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School, earned an undergraduate degree from Fordham University, and received a master’s degree in education from CUNY Lehman College. Catherine was a New York City public schoolteacher for 25 years. For most of her career, she taught 6th grade at P.S. 126 in the Highbridge section of the Bronx. Catherine was predeceased by her brothers Jack and Neil. Survivors include her nephews, John (Melissa) and Patrick, her great-nephew Will, great-nieces Marianne and Meg, her devoted cousin Eileen McCarthy, and a large network of friends at her beloved parish, St. John-Visitation, and the Family of Jesus and Mary (FJM). Catherine’s viewing will be held Monday, April 1, from 3-7 PM at Williams Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 2 at 10 AM at St. John-Visitation Catholic Church, 3021 Kingsbridge Avenue, Bronx, NY 10463.
