Ana Batista

Ana “Fefita” Batista was born on March 22 1939 in Santiago, Dominican Republic.  Pre-deceased by her husband of 32 years Jose de Jesus Batista.  They migrated to New York during the early Sixties where they raised their four children, Jose, Evelyn, the late Ediberta and Lialette.

She is survived by her son Jose  and his wife Betty, her daughter Evelyn, her nine grandchildren Wilson, Isaac, Jessika, William, Natalie, Hector, Emmanuel, Vanessa and Kiana.

She had 11 Great Grandchildren, Anthony, Caasi, Laila, Amy, Leah, Sofia, Adriana, Melanie, Izekiel, Alijah, and Nyla.

She worked as a Seamstress for most of her life then as a Home Health Aid until her retirement.

Fefita, as she was known to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 15, 2021.

She always wanted the very best for her family and enjoyed spending time together.  She enjoyed listening to music and spent countless hours with her children and grandchildren joking around and telling stories.  She was a great cook. She was a member of St Elizabeth’s Church and enjoyed reading the bible.

She will be greatly missed and is leaving precious memories of her time with her family and her great words of wisdom.
