Hilda Hernandez of Forest Hills, NY, passed away peacefully after a long and hard fought battle with cancer on September 23, 2017, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, NY. She was 75 years old.
The daughter of Joaquin and Clorinda Torres, she was born on December 17, 1941, in the Bronx, NY. Hilda enjoyed watching game shows and was an avid lover of Bingo, playing and almost winning every chance she got. She was a lover of dogs, giving to the ASPCA frequently, leaving behind her dear Yorkie Spike. But her greatest joy was spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored.
She is survived by her husband and loving partner of 44 years, Hector Hernandez; her five siblings, Eneida, Joseph, Lourdes (Lala), Ricardo, and Virginia Torres, and predeceased by her brother Joaquin. Survived also by her children Marc DeJesus and wife Ginny; Julie Valentin and husband Eric; her grandchildren Eric Valentin and wife Christine, Stephen Valentin and wife Sara, Jaclyn DeJesus, Brianna Valentin, Marissa DeJesus, and her great granddaughter Emilia Valentin; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Hilda touched countless lives in her time here on earth and she will be sorely missed..
May she rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord.
