Donato was born in Toritto, Bari, Italy, the oldest of seven children. He owned
and operated a barber shop, until he moved to New York with his family in 1972. A
loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faviana,
and their four children Rosanna and her husband Bill, Serafina and her husband
Michael, Rocco and his wife Maria, John and his wife Lisa, and seven grandchildren:
Victoria, Billy, Melissa, Daniella, Gabriella, Nicole and Marco. He is survived by
siblings Lucia, Tommaso, Giuseppe, Vito and Elisabetta and their families, and his
sister Angela and her husband Domenick, pre-deceased.
Though we miss you very much, we find solace knowing that you are finally at peace.
Thank you for all of the sacrifices you made for us.
Thank you for showing us the value of hard work, but more importantly, the value of
family.
Thank you for showing all of us what unconditional love and selflessness is.
Thank you for being yourself no matter what.
Most of all, thank you for being the greatest person any of us have ever had the honor
of knowing.
