I only spoke to Howie once on the phone to ask questions about his wonderful instruments and he struck me as such a kind, thoughtful and intelligent individual. I will forever treasure the items I purchased from him. Howie's passing was a sad day for the amateur astronomy community and all who knew him, may he know eternal peace.

I did not know Howie personally, but was well aware of his many contributions to amateur astronomy. He will be greatly missed. Wishing his family peace and strength.

I could always count on Howie to design an item every year or so that I couldn't live without. I will miss his innovations and knowledge.

Pok Sun, I was so saddened to hear of Howie's passing. Dabs & I missed you as our next door neighbor on the upper field at The Texas Star Party. Howie will be greatly missed by all the attendees at TSP. I feel so lucky to have called both you and Howie my friend. The stars shine a little brighter because of Howie. Clear skies my friend.

Nothing greater in a man who takes pride in their workmanship. Mr. Glatter was a very friendly and enthusiastic amateur astronomer and inventor. One of a kind and unforgettable man. He will be greatly missed among us amateur astronomers and all who knew him.

Everybody knows what a great engineer he was, but I just thought he was a great human being. He smiled a lot, he was interesting and to talk to, and enthusiastic about just about everything I ever spoke with him about. He showed great kindness and compassion when called for as well, and I appreciated that in him. I looked forward to stopping by and talking with him at events, and he will be missed in all our lives now.

Howie's contribution to the Astronomical community will continue to be the standard for generations to come. Everyone loved his easy nature and good humor, and appreciated his mastery of his craft.

Seeing and Howie and Pok Sun at Star Parties was always a delight for me and so many others. Pok Sun, I hope you continue the tradition.

My uncle was a funny, smart man. I have so many memories of growing up with him, my grandmother, parents, etc., that I will always cherish. We'll miss you Howie.

I met Howie Glatter about 10 years ago at Cherry Springs. His expertise and skill in engineering both impressed me and helped me a lot. I still use his products with much appreciation.
I also appreciate his sage advice about patents and engineering, as well as his great stories and some very interesting off-topic conversations.
There are extensive lists of condolences in the astronomy community on 'cloudy nights' and i would include a link if i could. I hope this works.
I will remember Howie whenever I look up.

To Howie's family and friends, I am saddened to learn of Howie's passing. In humble respect, I offer a poem: The Star by Jane Taylor
