Allene Marks

Allene Marks, age 91, of Bronx NY passed away on Tuesday August 6th, 2019, from heart failure following a courageous battle to walk again after a hip fracture.

She was born in Bronx, NY on September 4th 1927, the daughter of the late Richard Leigner and Lillian Allen. In addition to her parents, Allene was preceded in death by her beloved son-in-law, Nick Barcia and her four siblings; Elizabeth Schempf, Anne, John and MaryLou Leigner.

She married Herman "Red" Marks on August 10, 1051. Saturday, the day of her interment, would have been their 68th wedding anniversary. Allene loved Red, Shirley Temple, animals and Johnny Mathis. Most of all she loved being a mom. She lived for her three children, who will be forever grateful for her constant unconditional love and support. All who knew her loved her great wit and generous spirit.

Allene is survived by her husband Red, her sons Richard Marks and his wife Kathie, Thomas Marks and his wife Laura, her daughter Kathlene Marks-Barcia and her life-partner Sal Alleluia, her grandchildren; Kerrie Ogrudek, Thomas, Christopher, Brett and Kyle Marks, her three great-grandchildren;  Brandon Marks, Aidan and Ryan Ogrudek.
